Land as Teacher: Learning to Follow an Ojibwe Moon Calendar

For the past 13 moons the 'Land as Teacher' webinar series has been guided by an Ojibwe Seasonal Calendar that follows the movements of our first family Doodoom Aki (Mother Earth), Gokoomis Dibiki Giizis (Grandmother Moon), and Mishomis Giizis (Grandfather Sun). On Thursday November 4 from 7 - 8:30 p.m., the night of Oshki Dibiki Giizis (New Moon), you are invited to join Gokoomis (Grandmother) Jacque(line) Lavallee from Shawanga First Nation and Dr. Hopi Martin Oshkaabewis (Ceremonial Helper/Messenger/Firekeeper) as we share a little bit about the relevance of following this land-based calendar in the education of children.
