Land as Our First Teacher: Establishing and Maintaining Relationships

A one day gathering for children, families, teachers, educators, Grandmothers and Indigenous Knowledge Keepers to (re)establish good relationships with each other and the Land. Experience Indigenous led traditional teachings throughout the day. Experiences may include: water walk, traditional storytelling, experiencing the wigwam while being introduced to Kortright’s bush school, a sacred fire ceremony, preparing, cooking and learning about food from land, exploring the historical context of the land from an Indigenous perspective, going on a medicine walk,  Indigenous drumming ceremony, traditional dance and more.  This experience will enhance your understanding of and strengthen your relationship to Indigenous practices and environmental education.
